Connecting AirPods to a laptop is straightforward, especially if your laptop has Bluetooth. Here’s a step-by-step guide for both Windows and macOS laptops:
For Windows Laptops
- Open Bluetooth Settings:
- Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
- Toggle Bluetooth to On if it isn’t already.
- Put AirPods in Pairing Mode:
- Place both AirPods in the charging case and open the lid.
- Press and hold the Setup button on the back of the case until you see the white light blinking.
- Pair AirPods with the Laptop:
- In the Bluetooth settings on your laptop, select Add Bluetooth or other device.
- Choose Bluetooth from the menu.
- Look for your AirPods in the list of devices, select them, and confirm pairing.
- Set AirPods as the Default Audio Device (Optional):
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar.
- Select Open Sound settings.
- Under Output, select your AirPods from the list.
For macOS Laptops
- Open Bluetooth Settings:
- Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Bluetooth.
